Andac Lulec

Andac Lulec, Ph.D., received his doctorate from the University of Toronto (2017), after obtaining his M.S. (2011) and B.Sc. (2008) degrees from Middle East Technical University (METU) all in civil engineering. He also holds a B.Sc. degree in industrial engineering from METU (2009). Currently, he works in BBA E&C as an Engineer in Training in mechanical and structural group, where he provides engineering consulting services in mining, energy, and oil & gas industry.

His doctoral studies focussed on non-linear analysis of reinforced concrete structures (RC) subjected to impact and blast loadings. He employed non-linear finite element analyses of RC walls subjected to missile impacts in 3D and axisymmetric geometry. During his studies, as a part of NSERC IPS scholarship he worked in Morrison Hershfield for 7.5 months. During this period, he was responsible for optimization of in-house developed structural analysis software for telecommunication towers. Dr. Lulec is also interested in high-performance computing in structural engineering. His master studies focussed on development of direct sparse solvers under GPU architecture.
